Who Can Attend

Anybody with a passion for business, technology, and entrepreneurship is welcome (8th grade to College is recommended.).

Expert Speakers

Innovate '17 has amazing speakers that include CEOs, executives, and entrepreneurs that have worked in the industry and are succesful in their own right.

Pitch Contest

The interactive sessions lead up to a pitch contest for startup ideas with business plans and there are awards for the best teams, too! Awards include Satya Nadella's Hit Refresh book and Amazon Echo Dot.


All proceeds from this event benefit Boys and Girls Club of King County.


Meet the Speakers

Atul Ajoy (Organizer)

Atul Ajoy is the founder & CEO of Chromata and is a teen entreprenuer. He has also written guest posts for Geekwire and been featured in their podcast He is very interested in technology and entreprenuership.

James Billmaier

James Billmaier is the founder & CEO of Turbo Patent. He is also the former CEO of Asymetrix (which he led to an IPO as CEO) and co-founder (with Paul Allen) & former CEO of Digeo. He was also the CEO of Melodeo.

Todd Bishop

Todd Bishop is the co-founder and editor of Geekwire. He is a longtime technology journalist and former newspaper reporter who covers a wide range of technology news and trends.

Patrick Donka

Patrick Donka is the VP of Commercial Banking at Wells Fargo. He is the former interim COO for the Center for Infectious Disease Research and was formerly a senior director of M&A integration at Microsoft.

Gene Farrell

Gene Farrell is a SVP at Smartsheet and the former VP of Enterprise Applications and EC2 on Windows at AWS. He was also VP of North America Area Sales and then VP & GM of The Coca Cola Company's Freestyle unit.

Ajoy Krishnamoorthy

Ajoy Krishnamoorthy is the Head of the Cloud Platform Division at Acumatica. He was a Director of Partner Strategy & then OEM Segment Marketing at Microsoft and was also the founder & CEO of a startup called Loyalty.

Gillian Muessig

Gillian Muessig is the CEO of Outlines Venture Group and is the COO & Board Chair of brettapproved. She was the founding President of Moz and has been an advisor to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Jon Roskill

Jon Roskill is the CEO of Acumatica and investor & advisor to Wellpepper and Azuqua. He is also the former CVP of the Worldwide Partner Group and was also responsible for US Business & Marketing Strategy for Microsoft.

Andy Sack

Andy Sack is the co-founder and Managing Partner at Founders Co-op and Managing Partner at Techstars Seattle. He is also the Chairman of Code Fellows and former CEO of Abuzz Solutions and The Body Shop Digital.

Soma Somasegar

Soma Somasegar is a Managing Director at Madrona Venture Group. He is a member of the Board of Directors of CloudCoreo and the Board Chair of Pixvana. He was formerly a CVP at Microsoft.

Rahul Sood

Rahul Sood is the founder & CEO of Unikrn and is the founder & former CEO of VoodooPC. He was also the CTO of HP's Advanced Computing Unit. He also led Microsoft Ventures and is currently an Advisor to the Board at Razer.

Arean Van Veelen

Arean Van Veelen is the founder & former CTO of OfferUp and is now a strategic advisor to the company. He is also an advisor to Blok24 & Pogo Rides. He is the former CTO and Director of Technology at Konnects.
